Investment projection
SIP calculator
Estimate the future value of a regular monthly investment.
Reviewed 15 October 2026 · calculations run in your browser.
How the calculation works
Monthly rate i = (1 + annual return / 100)^(1/12) − 1; n = years × 12. Value = monthly investment × ((1+i)^n − 1) / i × (1+i). At zero return, value equals total contributions.
What you need to enter
- Monthly investment
- Investment duration (years)
- Expected annual return — An assumption, not a promised return. Negative returns can be modelled too.
Assumptions and limitations
Projection only, not tax computation or investment advice. No annual step-up, withdrawals or missed payments. Expected annual return is converted to an equivalent compounded monthly rate, rather than divided by 12. No return is guaranteed.
Contributions are made at the beginning of each month. The entered annual percentage is an effective annual return; other calculators may divide an annual nominal rate by 12 and show a different result. This constant-return illustration excludes taxes, fees and inflation. Real returns vary and may be negative.
